Shaped by wilderness, carried by memory

I am Sita. I practise one of the oldest crafts we know: the natural tanning of hides.

Working with nature, creating the way our ancestors did. Every hide I work with carries its own story, preserved with what nature offers us — an honour to wear, to use. Tanned with tree bark or fat and smoke: no chemicals, only time, attention, and awareness.

I believe this knowledge still lives within us, like a quiet memory of how we once kept warm, worked with our hands, and lived alongside nature. My wish is to make that memory felt again — in what I make, and in the stories I share.

May these pieces find their way, worn and used with pride, in honour of the animal that gave the material, and of the nature that helped preserve it.
