Origin
The hides I work with come from the food chain. In a time when speed and quantity have often become more important than attention and quality, these hides are usually thrown away. That touches me. To me they are not waste, but a valuable natural material. That is why I choose to take the time needed to preserve their value and to bring others back into contact with this material.
Naturally tanned
My hides are tanned exclusively with natural materials, without chrome or other synthetic tanning chemicals.
Some people who react sensitively to chemically tanned hides experience naturally tanned hides as a pleasant alternative. How a hide is experienced ultimately remains something personal.
Care
Naturally tanned hides can withstand moisture and, when needed, can be washed by hand or on a gentle hand-wash programme.
Afterwards, let the hide dry slowly in the air. While drying, the leather may feel a little firmer. By then bending it, kneading it, or working it over a rounded edge, the hide finds its suppleness again by itself.
My promise
I believe in products that last and are made with care. That is why I am glad to be there for you after your purchase as well. Do you have a question about your hide, or is there something you are not satisfied with? Feel free to get in touch. Together we will look for a fitting solution.
